Vintage Design
An original Art Deco tabouret produced around 1920’s. You can see classical inspiration from ancient Greece mixed with the 17th century notion of the ‘court tabouret’, an often elaborate upholstered stool with curved wooden legs designed for people to sit in the presence of royalty.
This piece has been recently completely refurbished and is in great vintage condition with only minimal wear and patina gained over the years. Our experienced craftsman has carried the restoration to the highest standard, using original techniques and respecting the character of the piece whilst reviving the natural pattern of the wood.
The original fabric was sadly damaged beyond repair and therefore was replaced by a new one, which nicely complements the colour of the alder wood.
