Trade furniture opening with 18 small drawers, decorated with straps and decorative brass stars. The drawers have pull rings on their square front and their interior is made up of 3 compartments. Originally used by an apothecary to store herbs, roots and other remedies used in traditional medicine, this cabinet has paneled sides, straight legs and a small molded cornice. Made in the Pondicherry region, a former French trading post in India, this piece of furniture is richly decorated with brass contrasting with the intensity of the wood.
