We are delighted to offer for sale this rare and important Gothic Revival circa 1860 bookcase dresser made using period 17th century paneling This piece is really quite rare, the craftsmanship is sublime, what you have here is some very old paneling that in the mid-Victorian era circa 1860 was incorporated into this lovely bookcase-cum-dresser The piece is really quite substantial, it’s all solid oak, the timber patina is sublime, heavily crafted from all angles, you have Cherub Putti heads, Pugin style Gothic arches, this really is a piece of art furniture Naturally it can be used as a dresser display unit or large substantial bookcase, anywhere this sits it commands attention In terms of the condition we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom I saw one small piece of timber missing on the bottom right side, otherwise all present and correct The piece is made of two solid pieces, a top and bottom section Dimensions: Height 222cm Width 192.5cm Depth 51cm . Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
