The Festival Brass Tray, Large Antique Wall Hanging ‘Anno 1631’

A gleaming, unusual and large brass tray or wall hanging featuring a harvest theme that was made in England. We think it depicts the Pilgrims Harvest or Thanksgiving in the year 1631, as mentioned on the upper and lower border plaques. Anno 1631.

Beaded borders surround multiple fruits, nuts, berries and leaves whilst the central medalion beatures two men bearing an enormous bunch of grapes! Interestingly a pair of boars heads feature on either side of the word ‘ANNO’.

Hand hammered in brass, this tray features intricate deep repousse work and adds to any collection. We can not find another like it.

Excellent condition. Complete with hook for hanging.
The size is 25” in diameter. H2.75″. Early 20th. Century.
