Vintage Design
A very nice pair of model 042 chairs designed by Geoffrey Harcourt in 1963 for Artifort.
Harcourt’s iconic 042 chairs were featured in Stanley Kubrik’s seminal film “2001: A Space Odyssey” and also used for the new Lima Airport in Peru.
These early editions have been restored completely with new fabric and new foam.
They are re-upholstered with soft Italian wool bouclé fabric.
The steel bar frames show signs of vintage, with marks and discoloration in places. They still present very cleanly.
They can be placed together to form a two-seater sofa, or apart for a conversational aspect.
