Large Hollywood Regency Bronze Cats, 1970s, Set of 2

Standing at a very impressive 82cm tall, this magnificent matching pair of oversized cats are equal parts Hollywood Regency, Art Deco and Egyptian Revival. Circa 1970. Exceptionally rare to find a pair together, especially at this size.

Beautifully carved, the sinuous and elegant curves of the Siamese cat are here exaggerated and elongated, the muscles and bones heavily pronounced, straining against the darkly patinated bronze skin.

Condition is overall excellent with no losses or damage. Surface wear as per age and use: the patination is lost at some of the high points, the tops of the ears etc, where the bright, un-patinated bronze has become more visible.
