First the great sense of depth and perspective experienced when standing at the edge of a forest and looking down a river with adjacent trees seemingly placed in random order.
Second, the subliminal suggestion of transcendental elevation that viewing experience conveys to the viewer’s consciousness. To achieve this, the artist placed rows of towering (pine?) trees—along the length of the river in the forest—in a consistent pattern, diminishing the size of the tree from foreground to rear ground as a means of enhancing the illusion of space and depth.
To elevate the viewing experience to a transcendental level, the artist has deployed light in the top background that is reflected in the water, imbuing a sense of motion
